Council on Foundation's new Managing Director of Global Philanthropy, John Harvey

John will update us the COF's international programs, including the Global Philanthropy Leadership Initiative.  John also serves as staff liaison to COF's Global Philanthropy Committee.

John Harvey brings more than 20 years experience in global grantmaking to his position of Managing Director for Global Philanthropy at the Council on Foundations, a leading nonprofit membership association of more than 1,750 grantmaking foundations and corporations working to advance philanthropy. 

Prior to joining the Council, John served for 10 years as founding Executive Director of Grantmakers Without Borders, a funder affinity group whose members fund social change programs globally. John is co-founder of New England International Donors, whose aim is to increase the quantity and quality of global giving originating from New England. John’s global perspective has been nurtured by extensive travel throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa, most recently spending five months in southern Africa where he sought to better understand the philanthropic sector.
